How to use your WhatsApp in any AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and more)

You use ChatGPT for writing, Claude for thinking, Cursor or VS Code for code, maybe Gemini on your phone. None of them can see WhatsApp, where your clients, suppliers and team actually reach you. So every AI tool you pay for stops at the one inbox you check most.
Most AI tools can use your WhatsApp now, through one address. Perisclaw runs a hosted WhatsApp server for AI tools at https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin; any app that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in connects to it, and you choose read only or read and write. As of November 2026 that includes ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini (US) and Gemini CLI, Perplexity, Mistral Vibe, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Zed, Cline, Goose, Raycast, Warp and Devin Desktop. The table shows each one, and the sections below give the setup.
Which AI tools can connect to WhatsApp
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI apps use to plug in outside tools. A tool that can add a remote MCP server and handle the sign-in can read, search and reply to your WhatsApp through Perisclaw. We checked each product's own documentation on November 3, 2026.
AI tool | Can it connect? | Full guide |
|---|---|---|
ChatGPT | Yes, as an installable app | |
Claude (web, desktop, mobile) | Yes, custom connector | |
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor | Yes | |
Gemini app | Yes, US personal accounts only | |
Gemini CLI | Yes | |
Perplexity | Yes, Pro, Max and Enterprise | |
Mistral Vibe (formerly Le Chat) | Yes, including Free | |
GitHub Copilot (VS Code, JetBrains, Visual Studio) | Yes | |
Copilot Studio agents | Yes | |
Microsoft Copilot app | No | |
Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf), Zed, Cline, Goose, Warp | Yes | Steps below |
Raycast AI | Yes, Raycast Pro | Steps below |
JetBrains AI Assistant | Unclear: sign-in not documented | Use GitHub Copilot in JetBrains |
LM Studio, Msty Studio | Not directly: no sign-in support documented | Explained below |
Gemini Enterprise, Microsoft 365 Copilot admin connectors | Not yet: they need a pre-registered client ID | Copilot and Gemini guides |
Perisclaw's own docs cover ChatGPT, Claude, Codex and Cursor. For the other tools, the steps below follow each product's own documentation as of November 2026; if a sign-in doesn't complete, contact support and we'll help.
Each tool connects separately and gets its own access level, so Cursor can send messages while ChatGPT stays read only. One Perisclaw subscription covers all of them.
How every connection works
The steps differ by app, but the pattern is the same:
Add
https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/pluginas a remote MCP server, connector or custom app.A Perisclaw sign-in opens in your browser. New to Perisclaw? Create an account there and link WhatsApp by scanning a QR code or entering a pairing code on your phone.
Choose Read only or Read & write and approve.

Perisclaw registers each app automatically, so you never paste a client ID, secret or API key. If an app asks you to pick a transport, choose Streamable HTTP; if it asks for an authentication type, choose OAuth.
AI chat apps
ChatGPT: Perisclaw is a published app. Open Plugins in the sidebar, search for Perisclaw, choose Install plugin, then Connect and sign in. No developer mode needed.
Claude: go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL and click Connect. This works on every plan; Free allows one custom connector. A connector added here also appears in Claude on your phone.
Gemini: if you're 18 or over and in the US, using a personal Google account with Gemini in English and Keep Activity on, open gemini.google.com, then Settings → Connected Apps → Add a custom app, paste the URL and click Next. Gemini's own WhatsApp app on Android can send messages but can't read your chats, so this is the way to let it read them.
Perplexity: on Pro, Max or Enterprise, open Settings → Connectors (on some accounts it has moved to Plugins), choose + Custom connector, then Remote, paste the URL, choose OAuth if asked, add it, then click the connector to sign in.
Mistral Vibe (formerly Le Chat): open Connectors, click + Add Connector, switch to Custom MCP Connector, name it perisclaw, paste the URL and click Connect. Free accounts can do this too.
Microsoft Copilot app: it can't connect. Its connectors are fixed to OneDrive, Outlook.com, Google Drive and Gmail. Use GitHub Copilot or a Copilot Studio agent instead.
Coding tools
Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http perisclaw https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin, then type /mcp in Claude Code and authenticate.
Codex: run codex mcp add perisclaw --url https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin, then codex mcp login perisclaw.
Cursor: add { "mcpServers": { "perisclaw": { "url": "https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin" } } } to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and sign in when Cursor asks. It asks again every 30 days.
GitHub Copilot in VS Code: run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP, paste the URL, name it perisclaw and accept the sign-in prompt. Works on Copilot Free; Business and Enterprise need the "MCP servers in Copilot" policy on.
GitHub Copilot in JetBrains and Visual Studio: add a perisclaw entry with the URL to mcp.json (JetBrains, from Agent mode's tools icon) or .mcp.json (Visual Studio), then use Auth or Manage Authentication to sign in.
Gemini CLI: run gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user perisclaw https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin, then /mcp auth perisclaw inside the CLI.
Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf): open Customize from the Agents window, click MCPs and add a remote server with the URL. Devin Desktop handles the OAuth sign-in.
Zed: go to Settings → AI → MCP Servers → Add Server → Add Remote Server, or add "context_servers": { "perisclaw": { "url": "https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin" } } to your settings file. Leave out any Authorization header and Zed opens the sign-in for you.
Cline: open MCP Servers, go to the Remote Servers tab, enter perisclaw and the URL, pick Streamable HTTP and click Add Server. If you edit the JSON instead, set "type": "streamableHttp", because Cline otherwise assumes the older SSE transport.
Desktop and terminal assistants
Raycast AI: with Raycast Pro, run Install MCP Server, choose the HTTP transport, paste the URL and use dynamic registration for OAuth, so Raycast handles the sign-in. Then type @perisclaw in AI Chat.
Goose: in the desktop app open Extensions → Add custom extension; in the CLI run goose configure, choose Add Extension, then Remote Extension (Streamable HTTP). Goose gets its sign-in details automatically.
Warp: open Settings → Agents → MCP servers, add { "perisclaw": { "url": "https://api.perisclaw.com/mcp/plugin" } } and sign in when Warp opens the browser.
LM Studio and Msty Studio: both accept remote server URLs, but their docs only describe fixed API keys in headers, not the browser sign-in Perisclaw uses, so they can't connect directly today.
What to ask in any of them
"What needs my reply on WhatsApp today?"
"Find the address Priya sent me last month."
"Summarise the vendor group since Monday and list anything I need to decide."
"Tell Rahul Friday at 3 works." With read and write access, check the message your AI shows you before you approve it.

Reading chats doesn't mark them as read, and files come through up to 10 MB in and 25 MB out.
Is it safe to connect WhatsApp to several AI tools?
Perisclaw connects to your WhatsApp once, as a linked device like WhatsApp Web, and every AI tool goes through that one connection, so you don't link WhatsApp again for each app. Each tool sees only your WhatsApp, at the level you gave it, and the Perisclaw web app lists every connected tool so you can remove any of them instantly. We don't use your messages to train AI models.
WhatsApp's help centre warns that linking unofficial apps can lead to a ban. Perisclaw is built for normal personal use and stops and checks with you after 15 chats if you try to send the same message to many people, which is what WhatsApp's spam rules target. Details are in Privacy & security and the MCP server docs.
FAQ
Which AI can read my WhatsApp messages?
None of them can on their own, but any AI tool that adds remote MCP servers with sign-in can once you connect Perisclaw: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini (US) and Gemini CLI, Perplexity, Mistral Vibe, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and the others in the table.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?
No. Perisclaw uses the WhatsApp number you already have, on regular WhatsApp or the WhatsApp Business app.
Do I need a separate subscription for each AI tool?
Not for Perisclaw. One subscription covers every tool you connect. Some tools need their own paid plan for custom connectors, such as Perplexity Pro or Raycast Pro.
My AI tool isn't listed. Will it work?
If its settings let you add a remote MCP server by URL and it supports OAuth sign-in, it should. Paste the URL and look for the Perisclaw sign-in page; if the sign-in doesn't complete, contact support.
